Compostable, Recyclable,
or Low-Plastic?
Eco packaging comes with a lot of confusing labels, so here is the simple version. Compostable means it breaks down at a composting facility. Recyclable means it goes back into the paper stream. Low-plastic means far less plastic than a standard cup, but not zero. Whichever fits your brand, we match it to the right coating and the right claim.
Aqueous Coating: Recyclable with Your Paper
A water-based coating that does the job of a plastic film, without the film. Cups and containers go back into ordinary paper recycling, and the claim is certified: up to 92% recyclability on food containers (TÜV Rheinland / DIN CERTCO), plus Flustix low-plastic certification (at least 98% plastic-free under their scheme).
BPI-Certified Compostable Options
Both our PLA and aqueous-coated lines are BPI certified for commercial composting (the US standard): they break down at industrial composting facilities, not in a backyard pile.
