What Are Paper Ice Cream Cups?
A paper ice cream cup is a single-use, wide-mouth container made from food-grade paperboard with an inner moisture barrier coating. Unlike hot drink cups — which use double-wall or ripple-wall construction for insulation — ice cream cups use single-wall paperboard because frozen desserts do not require heat retention.
The inner coating (PE, PLA, or aqueous) prevents moisture from the ice cream from soaking through the paper, keeping the cup structurally rigid throughout the serving period. The wide, tapered shape allows easy scooping and comfortable hand-holding.
Paper ice cream cups are used for hard-scoop ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, acai bowls, and other cold desserts. Available in sizes from 2oz (tasting portions) to 20oz (party servings) and compatible with dome lids, flat lids, and paper lids.
